Frosty Tool Suite – Error Compendium

With the help of electricfish & GalaxyMan2015, I have centralized all errors that have been reported thus far.

It will be updated as we go so please do not direct link. Instead, place a link to my Frosty Tool Suite Tutorials page.

Hope it helps!

Frosty Tool Suite Error Compendium

I, munchyfly, am NOT the creator of Frosty Tool Suite. I’m merely a Tester, meaning that I only try out the tools and take no part in it’s coding.

All Frosty Tool Suite development is made by GalaxyMan2015 & his development group.

  • Not sure you can help me with this, but I’ve not found too much on google. I was using MEAExplorer, but since most mods are Frosty now, I repaired my game and decided to use Frosty. It logs me into origin fine, but then nothing. Doesn’t attempt to launch game at all. Task manager shows no changed processes after origin launching. I added frosty to the firewall exceptions. Tried running Frosty with no mods, still wouldn’t launch game but repaired game launches fine w/o Frosty. My windows defender is not blocking it, as it shows nothing at all in quarantine or otherwise. Using 4.7 .net framework. Windows 10. Frosty MM 1.0.2a. Thank you for any pearls of wisdom you can toss in my lap. And if you are all out of pearls, well then I appreciate you just taking a peek. πŸ˜› (if this is a duplicate post – sorry, had a WordPress issue.)

    • Hi. Sorry your having trouble. I appreciate the compliment but I have no pearls of wisdom. Only beans LOL.

Anyway, did you try reading the Error Compendium? It’s located under the Frosty Tool Suite link at the top.

It contains several reports on errors and such. If you can’t find a solution there, then let me know.

      Hope it helps :).

      • I found the culprit that stole ol’ Frosty’s magic hat. It appears there was an older ModData folder that needed to be removed. Repair alone was not enough. Once deleted, Frosty sang Happy Birthday. Magic hat restored to ol’ Frosty. πŸ™‚
And thank you for the tip. I’ll look there if I have any more issues.

      • PS – Hope you didn’t steal those beans from Jack :p

      • Yay! I’m glad you solved your issue ^__^;;

Nope. Jack’s beans are safe and sound somewhere out there. Mine are regular beans you buy at the market LOL.

  • Game doesn’t launch from the Frosty. After I press launch button, it just minimizes and game doesn’t start. No such problems when I launch it normally.

    • First, try reading the Error Compendium. use the Frosty Tool Suite link above. I’m pretty sure this issue is recorded there.
Second, it could be a mod that’s doing that. Try going one by one and see which one does it.
Third, if the above doesn’t help then let me know.

  • ImmortalNInja18

ok need some help here, i press launch game but nothing happens. It shows in task manager that mass effect andromeda is running but no window pops up, its not in task bar. I even heard that it can take a while for it to start, so i let it sit there for 3 hours and nothing… please help!

    • Hello. Sorry to hear your having troubles.

First, I suggest you read the Error Compendium. I’m pretty sure your issue is recorded there.

If it doesn’t work, let me know. It might be a mods fault too.

      • ImmortalNInja18

i’ve tried looking through that, and any fix that is on there that relates to my issue, i’ve tried and none of the fixes on there work.

        • Try the following:

          1) Is your game COMPLETELY vanilla?
          2) If your game isn’t vanilla yet, please remove the AnselSDK64.dll files and, if it’s there, bcrypt.dll. Also, if it’s there, delete the ModData folder. Then Repair your game through Origin. OR, completely re-install the game, if your willing to do so.
          3) Try running the game through Frosty Mod Manager WITHOUT any mods active.
          4) Try running the game with one mod at a time. If it’s a mod’s fault then you will find out which one is the culprit.
          5) Run Frosty Mod Manager with Administrator Rights.
          6) What is your game version?

If that doesn’t help, I suggest you post your issue on the Modding Andromeda troubleshooting channel. If your issue is a new one, it might even be added to the compendium for future reference.

That’s about as much help as I can give you right now. Apologies.

  • When I launch a mod for Star Wars Battlefront, it says that a “requested operation requires elevation”. How do I fix this?

  • Just went through your error list and couldn’t find it in there, so perhaps you can help me.
When I download The Mod Manager I’m getting a RAR file not a Zip file so there’s nothing to extract and install to start with. I’ve tried downloading from both Nexus and GitHub to the same effect. I assume I’m doing wrong so a hint would be nice please πŸ™‚

    • When you download FMM, it does come as a rar. You have to extract that archive to any folder. Inside that folder, there should be FrostyModManager.exe, along with several other files that make it up.

  • dumb mistake on my behalf, my zip program had expired…….

  • Hey, I’m having a similar issue to another post further up, where Frosty just refuses to launch the game at all, even without any mods installed, I’ve gone through the troubleshooting for almost every error listed in the compendium, and while they fixed other errors that I had, like not being able to press the launch button without some kind of error. But now everything goes well until the Frosty tool minimizes and the game appears on my task manager, but no window opens, nothing runs and the process is not even using 9mb of my RAM

    • Well, at this point, I’d suggest either a clean install or try your luck at the Discord Server.

Honestly, I’ve only had one issue with Frosty but that was way before it was released. Ever since: no problems at all.

I merely compiled that Error Compendium ;P.

Plus, I haven’t modded Andromeda in quite some time so I can’t really say if there is anything new added there.

Sorry I couldn’t be of more help :(.

      • Thanks for replying.
Doing a clean reinstall of ME:A did help, but only for 1 session, now the Frosty tool .exe doesn’t run, I try to run it, and nothing happens, isn’t there a more permanent way to mod textures for the game without having to use the tool every single time?

      • Nvm, deleting bcrypt.dll somehow fixed it, still, it would be cool to have a way to mod the game permanently like Frosty did with DA:I

      • Well, I’m glad you solved it.

        1) Frosty did not permanently mod DAI. It wasn’t even around when DAI Modding was possible.

        2) The fact that the game cannot be permanently modded is a good thing. You don’t have to edit your Patch every time you uninstall mods, since save files from a modded game could not be opened unless you incremented the Patch number manually.

With Frosty, you wouldn’t need to do this. The game would only be modded if you run it through Frosty Mod Manager. Run it directly through Origin and your game is vanilla, meaning that you wouldn’t need to mess with the original files.

This is also a good thing because you can share save files without being worried that the mod user has to keep upping their Patch version based on the save file. I’ve seen modders share save files where you would have to up your Patch version from the regular 12 to 20. Normally, it should only go up to 13, if modded.

        3) For modders, this is also good because we can test mods without having to build & merge them every time. We can save the project and edit it later. In DAI, you had to build the mod and merge it to test it out.

  • Hi πŸ™‚
I might have the same problem 2 other Users have here. But i was not able to solve it.
I did everything like the Tutorial says, but it ends up for me like this:
ME Andromeda is running in the background. I can see it in the taskmanager but that’s it.

    Things i tried so far:

    deleting the moddata folder
    deleting the bcrypt.dll
    repair the game through Origin
tried to launch through Frosty Mod Manager without any Mods active
tried to launch with 1 Mod by another active

Only thing that could cause this problem maybe is, because i only have the trial from MEA at the moment?

    • Hi there!

Since I didn’t have the Trial version, I asked the development team on their thoughts:

      Quoting GalaxyMan2015:

permissions problem, they have to do the usual checks, if none of them work, then probably a trial issue

Also, check the Error Compendium. Your issue could have also been reported.

      • Thank you for the super fast reply ^^

Found 2 other possible solutions on the Compendium. Tried them, but also didn’t work.
Guess it can really just be a trial issue then.
If i will get it to work somehow, i will write here again so it can maybe help others with the same problem.

      • Good Luck!

And yes, if you do manage, it would be very helpful if you post it here :D.

  • Hello again πŸ™‚

Yep, it was definitely because of the trial version. Bought the full version today and the mod manager works perfectly fine ^^
    What a relief πŸ˜€

  • Greetings! I have a problem with the manager and the deluxe edition. Whenever I try to load MEA with the mods and then load my saves, the game tells me that the deluxe content is missing. Do you have any idea what is goiing on? I am kind of really despierate! πŸ™

    • Hello.

Could you provide a screenshot of said alert, please?

In the meantime, try the following:

      a) Make double sure you have installed all of the deluxe content for your edition installed.

      b) Make sure you are on the latest patch, which is 1.10.

      c) Make sure your Deluxe Edition is the ONLY copy installed on your PC. Several people have claimed it was but wasn’t.

      d) This could also be the fault of the mod being made with an older patch. If it’s one of mine, they should work. But I’ll only be able to update to 1.10 in a week or two.

Off the top of my head, that’s all I can think of right now. I’m no longer a part of the Modding Andromeda server so I can’t really say if someone had a similar issue.

As a last resort, you can go to the Modding Andromeda server on Discord. The link is at my Mass Effect: Andromeda main page.

Let me know how it goes.

  • hi,

Frosty throws an exception when I load one of the nexus mod files. The guy at nexus hasn’t replied
if his mod is for V1.10 yet.

Is this a zip error or a mod error?

As I said previously, I also tried to zip my own mod (Before finding this site) the first time but when I loaded it threw an exception very similar to this one. I then watched your video and saw that you used peazip so I tried using
peazip on the mod that I made (actually an edit of gun stats not like a texture mod).

Anyway this is the error and I was hoping you could shed some light on the cause.

Invalid Parameter <— is this the 7z parameters?

  • Hay wonder if you can help, install the mod manager all went ok, all good so far.
Then installed mass effect Andromeda mods. All in and okay, so far so good.

Then went to launch the game through the frosty mod manager, and nothing wont launch.

    Tried running as admin, nothing.
uninstalled the mod manager and reinstalled it then tried to launch the game through the mod manager, nope nothing.

So I am at a bit of a loss, any idea of what I have done wrong?

    What can I do?

  • Hi. I used the manager with a mod on FIFA17 and it worked. But, now it doesn’t start. After mod installation, I decided to download the editor, but itself crashed after booting. Don’t know what caused it, so I deleted it. Then after deletion, mod manager no longer opens. Perhaps I did something wrong with files while copying them?

  • Hi, I’m having a problem, I’m very new to mods so I don’t understand a thing. πŸ˜€ When I try to launch with Frosty it says
“Access to the path ‘’ is denied.”
I read error compendium and found no solution. :/ Can someone help?

  • First of all, thanks for your brilliant work. I couldn’t get to work although I first start the editor then the mod manager and enable the mods. I have no error messages yet nothing changes just the base game. Is there a specific version of Fifa that works or am I missing another thing.
